EASTAR Health Extends Hours for Mammograms
Expanded hours will expand access to care for women not available during the work day
Muskogee Community Hospital, a Campus of EASTAR Health System announced today that starting October 1 it will be extending Mammogram hours from 7:00 am- 7:00 pm Monday through Friday in an effort to better serve patients. Women will even have the option of scheduling a mammogram during their lunch break. These extended hours will expand access to care for the many women who have difficulty making appointments during the work day. The initiative was designed by the health system to meet the region’s needs close to home. “Patient care and satisfaction are always our top priorities”, said Stephanie Adams, Director of Radiology for the health system. “With the importance that mammograms can play in a woman’s health, we wanted to remove a barrier many women have to making that appointment- the barrier of time.”
As previously announced, the health system is in the process of relocating all women’s imaging from the Providence campus to the MCH (East) campus. Providence will continue to be utilized on a limited basis for some imaging services for another month or two. EASTAR Health System recommends that all women talk to their doctor about which screenings are right for them.
